Tesla has officially entered the U.S energy economy starting off with the construction of a giant megawatt energy storage project that is currently connected to the Texas power grid, just 40 miles south of Houston. That kind of energy could power about 20,000 homes and is expected to begin commercial operation on June 1st. Back in July 2020, Elon Musk claimed that he believes Tesla Energy could be even bigger than Tesla automotive, projected to potentially represent up to 30% of the company’s revenue in the next decade.
