FedEx Express shipments could face delays throughout the week as the company grapples with “substantial disruptions” from the weather at a critical hub in Memphis, Tennessee, according to a FedEx service alert posted Tuesday. The city is home to the Express World Hub, which operates as the center of its multiple hub-and-spoke system.
“A high volume of shipments travel through Memphis and contingency plans have been activated to minimize the impact,” the alert said.
FedEx said the following Express services are most likely to be impacted by the winter weather:
- Express shipments inbound to the U.S.
- First Overnight
- Priority Overnight
- Standard Overnight
- Express Saver
- 2-Day A.M.
- 2-Day
- 1, 2 and 3-Day Express Freight.
