The Big 3 in transport carriers have all just announced rate increases which will be effective in the upcoming months. While FedEx and UPS routinely have rate increases, surcharges, or other fees, this increase comes after a year of record numbers. UPS will increase by an average of 4.9% for ground, air, and international and over-maximum shipments will increase $45. FedEx will increase their ground, home deliveries, import / export services, and express package and freight services by 4.9%. They are also implementing a 6% late fee on express and ground invoices.
