Not just one jet, e-commerce giant Amazon bought straight out 11 jets from Delta and WestJet airlines for the first time. Having previously leased all of their jets, VP of Amazon Global Air says that this change to owned aircraft gives Amazon better time to manage their operations. The first of their new planes, all of which are Boeing 767-300s will be holding cargo will be ready by next year, as Amazon plans to add another 85 planes by 2022. In addition to the planes, Amazon has also built several package sorting hubs at airports and other warehouses in smaller communities to allow for independent contractors to deliver their goods instead of relying on the USPS or UPS to do so. | Read more
