In order to meet service demands during the holiday season, FedEx is increasing hours for some employees, and boosting workforce with an additional 55,000 seasonal positions, as needed. Earlier in September, UPS announced it would hire 100,000 temporary workers for the holidays, which in previous occasions turned into permanent positions for as many as 35% of those temporary workers.
