Boeing Tells Airlines to Ground Some 777 Jets After Engine Failure

Boeing has grounded its wide-body 777 aircraft after a piece of the engine broke during a flight in Colorado, the third incident in recent years by this model engine. United Airlines who is the only airliner to fly planes with this engine immediately pulled 24 planes from flying. Other countries across the globe who also fly this model plane have grounded it as well. The US Federal Aviation Administration on Sunday also issued an emergency order saying it would be stepping up inspections of 777s that use certain Pratt & Whitney 4000 engines. | Read more
